Hello!
since yesterday,my thomson sky box makes strange durable chirr sounds, when i watch a programm, between swtiching the channels,i here,i more intensive chirr sound,,and then durable chirr during watching the programm, any ideas, what could be fault?

Exactly which Thomson Box is it?

There have been many instances in the past 3 years or so of strange faults stemming from premature failure of Power Supply Smoothing Capacitors.

That said, Audio chirps don't strike me as necessarily being related to that - Have you double checked all your SCART leads are properly seated?

Hi !
on the underside i read the type dsi 4212!

yes scart all okey, every other receiver works fine!
was only very intresting,on that day,the blue yellow house card stop working, the chirr sound will beginn first time!
thanks for your fast reply!:)

Hmm. That does seem too much of a coincidence - Have you tried power cycling the Box ie Disconnect from mains supply for a good few seconds then reconnecting it?

If there is some sort of glitch caused by the change in Card permissions (somehow!), then power cycling should sort it out.

yes i try reconect many times, the power, but no problem,i have a 2. sky box here from pace!
want only know, what could be fault inside,

i think the audi codec chip,or what ever

I have a Sony Sky box and whenever an update needs forcing through that is the sound that is made when watching programs. Do a forced update by powering down and holding the backup button, then power on again and hold the backup button until 3 lights come on front and message displayed (if using scart) do not switch off etc, then everything is usually fine again.
