Authorising a new card

I have bought a digibox with a card that has not been authorised,the problem is i do not know what name and address was used when the card was requested.How does the Sky installer authorise the card through the modem?.He cannot enter the name and address of the card holder,so how does he do it?,and can i do it if i conect the digibox to a land line in the UK..........Brian ps,its a ftv card only

Not sure Brian, whether the modem authorisation will work on a BBC card, I've only ever done them on Sky cards, and it is logged on the phone number only.
