Put my dish bracket back on the gable end wall today. Have a slight problem as I want to keep the dish below the ridge of the roof and the distance from flat roof to ridge is 1.8m. No problem except when the dish is moved to the extreme east or west and it looks as if it will hit the flat roof. Its a 1.2 m Andrews dish and now I am pondering on down sizing to a 1m which would give me more scope for fitting. Is there that much difference in reception between a 1.2 and 1m?

I am much further north than you and have the 90cm up and get good reception across 42e to 58w with excepts to 26e, 4w, 7w etc where a 1.2m would make the difference for me.

so you should be fine, unless there is any satellites or channels where a 1.2m will make the difference
