Hi guys...
Lost all my settings today trying to set up a linksys access point to the dreambox...so I tried to load up an image (hydra500_phoenix_109 img) but it left the dreambox in an unusable state..just a grey flashing screen...problem is I can't reload an other image as my settings for DCC are not recognised and when I try to load with flashwizard Pro the same thing..not recognising my dreambox settings...I also tried to reflash thru the serial port with dreamup but my laptop will not recognise the com port..I'm using a usb to serial null modem cable....I've tried all the com ports 1 by 1 but to no avail..anybody got any ideas...by the way I didn't get the access point working either (trying to connect it diectly to the dbox) any advice as usual is really appreciated

I don't know about the usb to serial null modem, never tried it. But one thing you have to make sure is to take off ALL the connections and cables from the dreambox, and don't connect it to the mains. Switch on the dreamup software and when you get the prompt, connect the power. If it does start to load up the image, let it finish without stopping it. May well be a good idea to load up a normal dreambox image first, and then when it all works to upload a new image using USB

Tried everything.but still no joy..I'm back at work tomorrow so I will bring my work lappie home and see what happens..failing that I'm sure John G can help out if I'm really stuck..very obliging bloke.

Crisis averted....used an old version of dreamup specific to 500 and that did the job.
