just tested, 0% Signal here with my gregory 1.25m!

with bigger dishes, read on other sat board on the net,around the have of the transponder should work,but the dont tell what dish size was used..!

Good moning all,

Any one picking up the following transpoders on Badr 5 satellite as per _http://www.flysat.com/badr5.php

11240 V 27500
11280 V 27500
11318 V 27500
11355 V 27500
11395 V 27500
11432 V 27500

Have tried test here in Kenya using a 2.4 meter offset dish with Inverto black quad Lnb no signal yet from Badr 5. Currently i receive all Badr 6 Tps.
 
No signal at all with my 1.10m here in Crete, with Inverto black single. A bit of surprise since it is claimed that those frequencies are transmitted from the Pan - Arab beam.
 
Btw, now in flysat they say that those transmission were a test and now they've left...

The frequencies are back on as per flysat.

As per test done yesterday, the signal strength of the transponders was weak as one needed a dish more that 3 meters dish to receive the signal in Tel Aviv as per post by Dosh on Flysat website.


I think the are still testing the satellite.
 
Flysat says you need at least a 3m dish in Israel to receive these test signals... so they are very low power even in the Middle East. I can easily see the peaks on the spectrum on a 1.5m dish in Spain so my guess is when they turn the signal up to broadcast level it will be an easy catch in much of southern Europe.

Bahrain TV package frequency 12226 H 27500 moved from Badr 4 to Badr 5 Pan Arab beam
 
the power is decided by the uplink station. like fox movie, before it is very strong now they lower the power. for the coming Nile201, if that coverage map is correct, i think some hot channel wont be strong like people predict. The big operators will reach agreement between each other who cover where.
