mount a dish that big on the wall over looking the roof! Could be dodgy!

It would go in my garden, just would need a longer cable run, nothing over 30ft though.

Mrs would go nuts if I won that!

Crossbones wanted to motorise and the Prodelin prime focus design is definitely not the best one to start off with.

http://www.gdsatcom.com/Prodelin/Manuals/4096-225.pdf

Have a look at pages 13 to 20 and you will see the truss mount is not one that can be upgraded to a steerable unit. If you went for the proper motorised backmount (from the 1345 version) the UK supplier would probably treble the initial antenna cost, even if they knew what parts to obtain from the US manufacturer.

Here is a picture from Germany and a Prodelin 3.4 installed on a EGIS rotor and a selfmade mount to attach it to.

Looks great.

The main problem is the specific polarmount design from TPG (now General Dynamics), it has a restriction in the total coverage of sky (I think it is rated at 75 degrees of arc in one of five actuator positions).
Getting the exact bolt packs required was always more hassle than it was worth. I would go down the route of a custom backplate onto the reflector only, and then bolting onto an alternative H to H motor (such as the Egis) but then you could have bought a better, complete system for somewhat less.

So what should we do about Crossbones problem?

Get another, maybe larger dish with a working polarmount for his garden?

I know of a Andrew 3.7m being sold, but it's expensive and damn heavy.

The only rason I didnt get it was like channel hopper adviced above.

It was getting out of hand, too much hassle and cost. As the original mount was going to cost 500 + vat and P&P! And then you cant see the full arc!

Ill just keep my tiny Channel master 1.8m ;)
