She went back up there after the Christmas break and went to a chippy for sausage and chips. The sausage was deep fried in batter so she asked if she could have a normal sausage instead. "This IS a normal sausage" they said.

True story.

She should have asked for the healthier vegetarian option, which I believe is a deep fried and battered Mars Bar.

the winds around here is awful its going like south west and coming from the west. So cant position dish to it, I just hope its not another realign job like last time. these channel master dishes are solid though no warping in strong winds with these beasts.

My Triax 88 dish has to be very precisely aimed to pick up the MGM channel on 10E. These winds can move it a tiny fraction off the spot and it's gone. It's not permanently mounted, just a pole in the ground with a few bits of brick rammed in. Can't have too many 'fixed' dishes :-doh2

On the other hand, my well-exposed motorised SMW installation takes anything the elements throw at it. Bar a hurricane perhaps...

The galesmoved my 1m Orbital dish on 16E but a few well placed tugs on the rim this morning and its back on beam - and as a bonus Ive got some of the Sesat 1 channels back as well which I lost months ago :D

I think I'll be concreting that pole in properly this summer.

checked my dish and it has moved again in the recent winds. been thinking of lowering the dish back again as I dont want to have to realign it every time there is some strong winds plus I will lose after 23east though but cant say I ever watch channels on those.

I think Spring may have revealed itself properly now. A lovely cloudless day here with warm sunshine. Luckily we seemed to miss the worst of those strong winds that sadly did for Vipersan's dish!:mad:

It's fine enough to have brought out some flowers on the lawn which I think are a variety of crocus.

Our sign of Spring was the appearance this morning of two pairs of Bullfinches on my Plum Tree, eating the buds!

You can have Bullfinches, or you can have Plums, but it seems you cannot have both.

Yesterday afternoon was NOT the day to be resetting my Motek motor, something confused it and it refused to drive further east than 25° from the SS2 but would go manually using the on board button. So, moved it back to 0° for a reset but that meant getting right under the base of boom and peering up, straight into the waterfall coming off the dish! That, coupled with the wobbly step ladder I was using, balanced on the top step in a howling gale really did test my patience, next time I'm gonna wear goggles :-rofl2

On a lighter note I've just purchased a Prof Tuner 7301 sat card and am impatiently waiting for it to ship from China

After some resonably warm weather earlier in the week (I had the window in my office open as tit was quite stuffy in there) its gone freezing cold again. Theres snow lying outside, & in the last few days we have had gales, snow, heavy rain, sleet, & fog. Its more like bleedin' November again.

All the snow has gone today - sounds like the north is copping it badly though.
