I found that all the Battery Apps and Cleaners I've ever tried on Android to be the chief culprit in causing slow operation.

They are smoke and mirrors anyway, and do nothing to really help Battery life.

As for Cleaners, well maybe with the exception of a decent File Manager, they are unnecessary.

One thing in favour of the iPhone is I don't need an app to tell me how much battery, my phone has left.

Don't all phones have some kind of icon which empties as the battery becomes depleted? And, anyway, you soon become used to how long a battery lasts under light and heavy usage.

Yep.

Standard element of Phones and Tablets these days.

But these add-on Apps claim to extend the time between charges and to prolong Battery life. They do neither.

On Windows Phone we (all three of us) have a built in optional battery saver that kicks in when levels are getting low and disables non-essential apps running in the background.

Really? To me that's a horrible mish-mash of jarring colours and icons that hide, rather than help, what they're supposed to do.

The colours are my wallpaper, hoiked from here:

LED Throwies

Cos life is dull without colours... :D

My battery icon was telling me I had 15% left, but the app had different ideas. I should have known. I hadn't charged the phone for two days. :D I was just testing the app. ;) Lucky I had another fone.

My iPhone can do that, I'm not sure if it's automatic or not but there's an on/off switch, I've never used it or noticed it on before now so doubt it's automatic but there again I don't take much notice, when it's looking low it gets charged and once every week or two I let it run completely flat and recharge over night

Your Mobile signal looks quite low, can you make a phone call with that?

That was cos it was on 4G, If I went to make a phonecall it'd switch back to 3G which gets full bars round here...

Very true, lol

Wifi and bluetooth enabled kills a fair bit of the battery.

I remember I dropped my old Nokia on the pavement once when getting out of the car, it bounced and I managed to catch it before it hit the ground for a second time! No damage done.

Still using a secondhand Nokia C2. It's been dropped off a roof, got soaked numerous times, spent more than one night in a snow covered garden and sits in a pocket with a bunch of keys, loose change and the odd penknife. Still working after five years, with one replacement battery (again second hand) and requires charging every three to four days.
