Northern Ireland variant of the BBC1 channel. Transmitting fta in English. No HD logo or graphics in use yet, and atm its tagged as 6943.

Launch should be later this week when NI switches off the last of the UK's analogue transmitters.

What is going to happen with the current BBC 1 HD that only shows these pause breaks during regional programming?
If N.Ireland/Scotland/Wales have their own BBC 1 HD, will the current BBC 1 HD have the London version?
 
I would imagine the 'English' BBC1 HD will continue with the regional opt out showing the the modern day potter's wheel but that the Scottish. Welsh and Ulster versions will have the correct regional programmes. It may show BBC1 London programmes but I think that is unlikely.

What I really want to know is when regional programmes will be shown as BBC1 HD on Freeview HD. It can't be that difficult.
 
You mean dynamic PID switching like WDR does, from the common HD programme to the local SD programmes?
Yes, that would really save much bandwidth, but isn't it still that very few boxes in UK support this?
 
Apparently BBC1 NI HD has now launched onto Sky HD epg 143 (replacing BBC1 England HD)
 
How soon on Freesat?
It's on Freeview now, as well as UTV HD
 
No idea, but cant be long to get it mapped over.

ANyone in NI got BBC1 NI HD where BBC1 London HD was yesterday?

Im feeling robbed - the Borders underwent DSO in 2008 - and what did we get.

Well certainly no sparkly new HD services to play with - instead our ITV region was closed down.... The Carlisle studios were knocked down & we got merged with Tyne Tees! We dont even have our own proper news bulletin now - we get a few minutes optout from bloody Gateshead!
 
Everyone should have an optout from Gateshead ..........................
 
BBC 1 NI was a replacement for BBC 1 HD on Freeview, moved it to 1 onthe epg, along with UTV HD at 3 and Ch 4 HD to 4. Marvellous
