BBC Dr Who New Year Special deliberate mistake?

Did anybody spot the deliberate mistake in Dr Who part 2 of the New Year Special on BBC HD?

Toward the end of the programme, the Doctor meet Rose Tyler. He asked "What Year is this?" She replied "2005 silly". She then walked to her block of flats where clearly displayed on the door was a no smoking sign. The smoking ban didn't come in to effect until 2008.

I can't stand the modern Dr Who. Tennant overacts to the extreme and the rest of the cast are inferior actors, too.

None of them would have got a role on the old series. They're simply not good enough.
