BBC FTA available in Borlänge Sweden?

Hi!

After moving from the Netherlands till Sweden I really really missed having the BBC channels. We have just put up a new dish so we can receive dutch and swedish channels but no bbc channels in sight. We did find many channels on Astra 2 (mostly encrypted sky channels) but no bbc. Is it worth standing another day on the ladder tweaking the dish or is it a lost cause?

I hope there's someone out there that can give us some pointers or a little push in the right direction.

Looks like you will need a good quality 1.2m dish as a minimum to reliably receive the BBC and ITV channels, your torroidal 90cm is too small.

We do have a member near you "puffin" but not sure what dish size and type he has installed. :)
 
I'm still not sure how you look at dishsize. The 90 is the size of the seperate dishpart where the 4 heads are pointed at. The actual dish is way bigger but strangely shaped. Yes I am a newby at all satellitedish related subjects. But thanks so much for your quick response.
 
Yes, they are big and bulky, but effectively perform like a 90cm, probably less the more offset the LNB is.

You will need a dedicated dish of between 1.2m and 1.5m, the Gilbertini 1.5m is probably one of the more reasonably priced of the medium quality dishes.
 
Too bad...guess my bbc wish just went down the drain : (
