My Satellite Setup
SKY dish Amiko MINI HD, but have just got a 1M dish to install soon, with a motor. Hitachi 42" set.
My Location
SW London (Hampton Court)
Hi there, I have an Amiko Mini HD connected to a standard Sky elliptical dish. Location is SW London.
On the BBC HD occasionally I get tearing across the centre of the picture, and sometimes the whole picture goes for a few seconds. I don't seem to get this on the other HD channels from ITV, etc.

I have heard that the BBC HD transmission is weaker then the others, would this cause it, or do I need to upgrade the dish/LNB? Otherwise I suppose it could be cats on the flat roof, or planes from Heathrow.

Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

There are 5 different BBC HD channels transmitting on 2 different frequencies - which one are you having problems with?

The frequencies used by the BBC for its HD channels are modulated by a more efficient technique (8PSK). That means that the signal couldn't be enough anymore on a poorly alligned dish or in a region outside the satellite footprint. In your profile I can see that your are well within the footprint so it's quite possible that your dish needs some better allignment.
