BBC HD to close down

BBC HD to close on 26th March 2013 and to be replaced with BBC 2 HD.

Been on the cards for a while - probably sensible, but I do enjoy being able to see HD versions of some BBC 4 (Chateau Tivu fave Channel!) on 109 at present.

Closed down with a showing of test cards on 10 min loop including:

30 line, tuning signal, ?, Test card A, B, C, D, F, J, upscaled wide screen, upscaled wide screen variation, 3D 1080, 1080 ( all with Dolby Digital Surround Test ).

Got up at 5.10 A.M. was on then 'till fade to black at 6 A.M. then 5 min This is BBC 2 trailer.

Successful renaming: Both Freesat boxes here updated automatically via housekeeping and generic boxes suitably edited.

VU+ Duo had already renamed BBC HD to BBC 2 HD in index by 5:10 A.M.

I didn't have to do anything. My front panel display still shows "BBC HD" .

I will probably have to edit something or do a re-tune.

It's a pity there isn't funding enough for both stations, I enjoyed BBC HD, and would've liked to see more BBC 2 in HD.
Ah well, can't complain, really.
