My Satellite Setup
Vu+ Solo - 100cm Dish - Dual LNB: monoblock LNB - Satlink WS-6908 Satellite finder
My Location
Spain - Ibiza
Hello, can anybody help me or give me some advice.

I have a good quality (80% SNR) with sky channels, MTV, discovery, etc

but getting a very low SNR on BBC, ITV, CBS, E4, etc channels.

I'm locked on the Astra 28.2 East using the cateye bouquet.

I am based in Spain, my setup is a 120cm dish.

Thanks

Your low channels are being transmitted on a tight spotbeam focussed on the UK.

If you look at the map link in my sig you will see that a minimum dish size of 1.8m is suggested for Ibiza these days.

Please note this is for a dish set up by someone who knows what they are doing with big dishes as the set up is absolutely critical.

Hello, can anybody help me or give me some advice.
Very to point: Your 1.2m dish simply isn't big enough to receive the BBC/ITV channels in Ibiza.
You need a 1.8 or bigger. And a good one - preferably a semi-professional glasfibre-reinforced plastic one (Channel Master/ Prodelin/Laminas).
And as @Analoguesat says, set-up by someone who knows what they're doing.
Dont't even bother fiddling with other LNBs or cables, you need a much bigger dish to receive the very weak BBC/ITV transponders.
(Just consider that 1.8m has a surface area more than double the 1.2m you have now).

Sorry chaps, but I beg to differ. I have never tried to set on a dish on Ibiza , but it is on an approximate line with Denia, Gandia etc.
I know it is slightly east from there, but think a 1.2 should work there, although I have never tried to set one up at that location. I seem to remember members in Denia receiving BBC etc on less than 1m dishes, tracking internal archives to find result! ( grey cells )
Thinking @woborny may have more info as he is on the mainland across from you. If no response, will send a pm.

Where I am (Gandia) a well aligned 90x100cm dish just about gets a stable signal... with ITV1Hds just about coming in.
The min size i would say for here is 100x110, so naturally I go for the next size up (110x120) just to be sure.
For the islands, i seem to remember some one saying the reception changes significantly as you go east across the island....from a 1.2 to a 1.8.... and with the added bonus of the heat and humidity and sand in the skies around here at the moment, could be the reason for low signal...so yes, could be as simple as your dish is too small
