What system you running, in particular; dish size?

I have no problem picking up all the BBC Channels with my 1.5 Dish, be it in the morning or evening. The signal is ok all the time. Naturally I do expect signal deterioration during heavy rain. With my 1.2, only the BBC HDs are guaranteed. The rest are ok during the evening but could not say the same thing for the morning.
 
Satelliteman - I am using 2.7m x 3.1m offset dish. CM feedhorn, Invacom C120 quattro LNB. I had a (marginally) better LNB setup for 2D reception, but this setup worked better when some channels on EB1 were hard to get. Now these channels have moved to an easier to recieve beam I might change back again. Also I will realign dish when 2D gets moved to its final resting place.

Why you wait for that? The 28.2 East cluster satellites are not arranged in a certain aligned order, they all average around 28.2 East.

Eurobird 1 is at 28.5ºE, so obviously is the ASTRA cluster becomes his priority over EB1 then realignment makes sense.
 
OK I see now.

With the transfer from Astra 2D to 1N, on my Dr.HD F16 the quality improved with 0,5 dB for H, and 1,0 dB for V transponders.

Best quality are the new 1N transponders 10964 H, 11053 H and 11126 V with 20 dB readings.
10700...10950 is 14,3 dB (H) and 15,8 dB (V) on average.

The weakest transponders here are often Astra 2A/2B Vertical South beam (about 12 dB).
 
Most of the tp's are 17dB to 18dB on my F15. 10964 is 19.5 used to be 20 when 1N started up.

On my AzBox all of these are showing 100% which isn't very useful.
 
Thanks Analoguesat but I have already tried that. Best signal still comes from the two HD channels but only for part of the day and then nothing. Is anybody in Malta doing better with a 1.5 dish or smaller?

Strange here in Stockholm ! BBC1 London i used to get 24/7 Now dissapers around 19.00 Local time. BBc H.D Used to come on at around noon local time works around the clock now !

hello to all,
i have done some testing here in the naples area.
on a 1 meter dish bbc 1 bbc 2 cbbc vert seams to be strong but will not work on any panasonic fringe boxes.
used a fair mate and adjusted the scew and it was comming in verry well.
clear night in naples area and was just braking up some pixilation few squares sound was rock steady.
but on a overcast or rainy day forget it.
this area needs a 1.25 or bigger and free view will be no problem for most of the time

All BBC channels transferred from Astra 2D to 1N.
 
TM - you're lucky to be receiving it in Stockholm still on such a small dish. Astra 2D had a hot-spot over there which allowed you to get away with smaller dishes than someone further west in Copenhagen. You might just need to realign your dish slightly and maybe a new LNB (Black Ultra) will help as well.

Check my other posts, i live in Stockholm as well and BBC1 and BBC2 are receivable on a quality 120cm dish here if you have it aligned correctly, ITV as well.

Hi Lanab
Im in the stockholm area and lost the bbc channels, also using a 120cm( channel master dish), Am I doing something wrong because after the change over to N1 I cant get them anymore... Do I now need a freesat box or should my sky one still be getting them. Any help from anyone is welcome..Ive only ever aligned mine my using the tv and sky box my dish is easy to get to so can play around with ease. But as I said picked up the BBC before 24/7.
 
You certainly dont want a Freesat box at the moment - many of the Freesat channels are no longer available to you as they are carried on 1N.

Either you need a bigger dish OR your existing dish needs tweaking by someone who knows what they are doing with a meter to extract ever last drop of performance from it.

Also upgrading to a high spec LNb may bring in a little more once the dish has been professionally aligned.
 
Signal strength has gone down around 1-1.5 dB during the last days in East Germany. Something has been going on with 1N...
