Not really - Sky will just just remap the BBC News / Alba / Parliament to their new homes on the epg data stream. It will be transparent to all Sky box users.

I have televes rsd7129 and don't have astra D. Does this mean I cannot retune to bbcnews? rang televes and they were useless just saying talk to BBC. But BBC have given me detail of new channel incl Astra D. Do I throw away my televes and buy something better? john ps sorry if this has been answered but cannot find one.

The label is that your receiver uses for 28.2/28.5E is irrelevant as you can call edit it to what you want. So the fact that 2D may not specifically be mentioned in that label is irrelevant.

Just find the label attached to 28E, ensure the relevant TP is selected and just scan it.

If the TP is missing, Add it.

The Televes7129 is a bog standard DVB-S Receiver so you should not have any problems.

thank u very much for giving me hope, have rescued box from bin and set it up again. bbc say 24hournews has moved to 10803H 22000 5/6. I have found some 10 channels with this label mostly BBC local tv but NO 24 hour news. They have additional numbers like A5900 P5900 which I don't understand. perhaps this relates to the'5/6'. Have rescanned several times without any change in listing. All other channels work fine including our local bbctv. Is there anything else I should do? yours - lost in the technology!

And if you get funny labels again, select them and see what is really there - one of them might actually be BBC News, so you can then just edit the label.

eg Only recently someone had it come us as ETV1 .................

Thanks to both you for comments. I have solved it but by accident!! You gave me confidence to try. I did not realsie that Televes place channels with same frequency in different places in their numbering. I found the block (number 300 or so) for this frequency and as the numbers then went up from there assumed that was it. However about 1600 (some 1300 later!!) I found another batch which included the new BBC24news channel. By chance when trying out at the lower number it suddenly jumped to 1600. No idea why but I have posted this info as othesr less aware (like me) might find it a help. I only wish Televes UK could have told me this instead of keep telling me to talk to BBC who could only repeat what I already knew!! thanks again.

Well done, Sir!

But this is really now just a matter of familiarity with the Receiver.

As stated earlier, it's a generic DVB S Receiver and so you are actually in control of the various listings as you can add/edit/delete/move/rename to your hearts content.

The box is dumb and will only respond to human instructions - So if you scan a TP one day and then again some time in the future, it will ignore exact duplicates (ie Leave them were they were) and tack anything new on at the end.

Televes wouldn't have thought to tell you this as they probably assumed you were as au fait with driving the box as they are (or think they are!).
