Watched this last night ...not neccessarily for content ...but more about the historical geeky interest in the tech ..
I already knew much about it ...but was fascinating to see how the 2 systems ..
Electronic and mechanical competed .
These guys were indeed pioneers.

Give it a watch if you can ..and see how far we came in a mere 80 years.

Yes, saw that on the day. Very good.

I went to the Science Museum to their "Great Optical Illusion" Exhibition in 1980 - 50 years since Baird's Televisor - and saw a lot of early stuff demonstrated. There was also some experimental digital displays of some kind, can't remember much now though.
