BBC with digital

I'm told i can receive BBC1 , 2 and channels 4 & 5 via digital TV , and am also told the viewing cards are free for this. If this it true how would i go about getting this setup in france, i have a UK address to sign up for the viewing card. Also what equipment would i need too.

BBC1/2/etc are ONLY available by satellite on the Sky digital platform. You need a Sky Digibox set up to receive signals from Astra2 (28.2east). And even if you have a British address it ain't that simple to arrange if you yourself are abroad. There are many potential pitfalls.

I would be obliged if you could let me know if you had any sucess
in getting BBC via digital Sat. in Europe.
As expat living in Ireland I have also have the same problem, when we are
issued with sky digital card the BBC CHs are blocked as due to licencing
they are not allowed to broadcast it here, another company currently holds
re-broadcast licence.
I have asked my sister to try and get me free BBC card with here TV
licence but I would also take out a UK TV licence if necessary.
Any futher info you may have come by would be appreciated

Reply. I brought i second hand digi box with a viewing card with it that still decodes the BBC channels.
