Hi
I have recently installed a Humax HD (Freesat) receiver here in Northern Germany and all seems OK. However, I cannot receive BBC1 HD. I can receive a few HD channels ITV1 HD ect but maybe not as many as is normaly possible ( I am not sure how many HD channels there are).
I have done what the manual suggests but it still does not work.
The other thing is when I retune the box I can only do a manual retune because when I try a Freesat retune and enter a valid postcode it comes back saying the postcode is not valid.
I have tried many different postcodes but with the same results.
Any suggestions much appreciated.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with BBC1 HD but the postcode problem may be because you're not getting the Freesat EPG data stream. What LNB and dish make/size do you have?

Thanks for getting back to me.
The dish is 75cm and as far as I can tell it seems to do a good job but I am no expert.
The LNB is a SHOP Plus.
LOS PLUS 59DB 0.2 DB
UNIV.SINGLE HD READY
INPUT 10.7/ 12.75 GHZ
L.O. 9.75/ 10.6 GHZ
SN 1006000566
This is off the sticker on side of the LNB.

What is the difference between a Freesat Tune and a manual tune?

Thanks again tdc.

Try a Freesat tune, using a UK postcode., eg TN14 5EG

The difference is a Freesat tune gives you all the Freesat channels and the EPG, the manual tune may not do.

Assuming that your dish is big enough for Astra 2D of course. Do you receive the other Astra 2D transponders?

You need to do the manual scan because you are not receiving the data stream from Eurobird 1. The reason you are not getting BBC1HD is probably because of the same thing. Transponder data for BBC1HD changed recently and will update itself once you are receiving the data stream from EB1.

If it is not getting the data stream from EB1 it can't test the postcode so an auto scan won't be possible.

Do you know which transponder the EPG is on Huevos? I thought it was on the fixed EB1 beam, which looks receivable at OP's location.

The EPG info is picked up from EB1 11426H.

I have notice recently that on some freesat boxes , where you used to input the postcode as XXX_XXX, now it will only accept is with XXXXXX...(or was it the other way around....?

Anyway, whichever way it used to be done, try it without the space, and it should work OK, at least it did on the one I saw today that also had problems inputting the postcode and getting invalid postcodes all the time..

Thanks for the responses.
I have tried the postcode with no space and still wont accept it.
I have tried many different UK postcodes with the same results.
Robbo asks do I receive the other ASTRA 2D transponders.
Please can you clarify what this means and how do I know if I am receiving or not (as you can tell I am no expert when it comes thyis subject)!
Thanks tdc

Do a manual scan and see what channels you receive from Astra 2D.

Here are the ASTRA 2D transponders:-

If you have just plugged the receiver into a dish on the side iof a German house then theres a good chance its pointing at 19E not 28E unless the apartment had Brits in it before you..
