Over 10 years here and never visited a hairdressers/barbers. A long time ago during my prog rock period, (well 1974 actually) I had long hair and a full beard. (I still have a copy passport photo from then to remind me what hair looked like). The hair I have left gets trimmed myself. A baseball cap or wooly hat keeps the grey matter warm normally. When that very cold spell hit us, I went unshaven for a while and decided to keep the resulting growth in moustache and goatee form. It may last till I visit my Mum around August, it doesn't match my present passport photo (does anyone look like their's?) and she'll hate it.

BTW, returning to the topic LOL, it's a beautiful cloudless day here, which is making me feel guilty about re lighting the Rayburn. But then I look at the forecast and gain a modicum of reassurance that I made the right decision.

LOL

Missed the 60's ...as I was but a child growing up ...
..so I guess I'm really a child of the 70's ...old enough at that point to reap the _benefits_ of what was established in the 60s ..and gobby enough to have an opinion .
If you want to get an idea of my hair back then ..
Picture the hair of Noddy holder ..cascading from under his top hat...and you get the picture ..
Same colour and same style ...as if it could be tamed into any other ..

Almost two of me in my school/student days could fit into my current clothes. What has gone missing is the shoulder length hair and the denim.

(Third from left - and would have been mid'81)

OK, with apologies for the state of the photo itself, creased, tatty, dull & drab (no wait, that's the subject). This is my passport photo from 1974 (at age 23). T'was done for a holiday in Austria, for which we had to fly into in Munich.

...Doh ..
Now you guys have got me searching for an early photo..
Certainly I don't have one ..
Perhaps the 'folks do'..
I shall investigate next time I get chance.
I was rarely in any photos ...since I was usually the one behind the camera.

Sorry to polute this thread ...but just emailed my sister ..
I was in luck ..
She has one of the rare photos of me circa 1977...
For this one my hair had been trimmed a little from its usual length ...another rarity was me wearing a tie for my sisters wedding..
The photo shows me and my first serious girlfriend Alaine ...who sadly died at age 26 with complications after a flu virus ..
She had a birth defect which left her with only one fully functioning lung..

That looks more like a students union card photo to me.

But back on topic, anyone caught in the snow yet ?

...No Snow as yet here CH ...in fact it was mild enough to 'play-out' ..with my mould and some body filler..
Not long to the waxing stage now...weather permitting.

No, not yet - but by a strange and contrary quirk of fate, the Runner Beans I shoved in the airing cupboard a week or so ago decided to show themselves today. Now I've got to keep stop them get "nipped"!

..fair comment that Pete ..
Is it Mould ...or is it Mold...
Apparently both are acceptable ...but I suspect one is 'American Spelling'
..and anyway ..the mould might do me some good ...as I still have a cold I can't shift ..even after 2 months ..on and off..

...and I blame the Trial drug I'm taking every day ..
Its function is to directly suppress the immune system..
Which doesn't help when customers still come into the shop carrying gawd knows what brand of lurgi.

Well, up here in the County of Durham, it's most definitely white and snowy, and powercutty too cos the power just cut out for a second just now...
