Begginers advice needed

I know you probably think I am stupid but here it goes...

My friend has purchased a Matrix revolutions cam and the guy in Greece that sold it to him told him that he can view scrambled channels on hotbird 13east by plugging this cam in the humax IRCI5400 box he has. But he doesn't know how to use it so since I know about pc's and stuff he asked me to find out more information about it.

Can anyone here tell my how the bloody thing works? Does it need some kind of card too? Can it be programmed via a laptop with a PCMCIA slot without the need for more hardware?

If you go to the drop down window marked forum jump and select matrix you will have enough reading material to keep you up all night. i do not have MR so cannot advise, for sure someone will when more people are about. From what little I do know I think his Hummy can be programmed to decrypt channels by flashing his STB to Toh3.0 which can be found on the many key forums no doubt then inserting the keys using his remote. There are many posts regarding MR for you to study.
