Hello all, I'm a complete beginner here.

I've got a few simple questions to ask:

  • I live in Cyprus, is it possible to receive HD content here through Satellite?
  • Something such as SKY HD?
  • Is it cheap or expensive if I can manage to?
  • What exactly will I need? Do I just need a receiver, a Smart Card (HD?) and a Satellite?
That's all for now, thanks :D

We can receive a lot of Sky HD channels with the sky HD box. Sky sports, movies,ITV, Ch4,Sky 1, some documentaries, If you can sort out a box/card from UK it will be cheaper.Average dish size is 3m.
Where in Cyprus are you?

So I can buy a box and card without the need to be living in England? I'm in Paphos.

Well, you buy the box and card as if you were living in England.Get a friend or relative to have one installed, offline if possible, then when its all up and running bring the equipment over.Apart from the dish:)

So, can I buy it off somewhere such as eBay? Any specific models I should be looking for? After I purchase it, how would I go about setting it up, or should I ask that for when I actually have them?

Thanks a lot for your help :)

As long as its a new box, preferably latest Pace. But I heard that pace are stopping HD boxes. The Samsung looks okay, but wouldn't recommend getting a subscription card from the internet.
