Are any of the forum members beIN sports subscribers? I could do with some advice please.
 
What's the problem?

When watching live EPL football on HD11 I am getting C******R plus a few other letters come up every 15-20 mins, it stays on for about a minute. I am wondering what this is all about. Have you any idea?

It may be to identify cards being used to stream content out across the web - the letters will be unique to one card, and therefore BEIN can isolate which card is being misused & shut it off.

Sky UK do similar things every so often.
 
Yes it's exactly as Analouguesat has said.
Previously when using an Abu Dhabi humax receiver the box would almost fill the screen but you could press ok and it would go away. With the new BeIn/Al Jazeera receivers there is unfortunately no quick way to remove it.

I had similar letters on my HD11 during matches yesterday, they are unique to your card and receiver pairing. If EPL spies are out and about in pubs and clubs and see these codes on screen they can report them back to beIN who will then switch the card off.

Tbh it was very excessive yesterday and the codes were moved all over the screen, very annoying

Yes, i appreciate why they do it, it's just so very over the top, on the middle of the screen where the action is and sometimes can last 2 or 3 mins, then 8 mins later its back in another place lol :D
 
You are right, it is a nuisance. How long will this go on for though?
 
I have noticed these on the illegal rebroadcast of bein sports at 53/57E a series of numbers turning up. I now no the reason behind it,

martin - are the HD channels rebroadcast on 53/57E also ? do they scan in as beIN or something else?

Hi Journey, No they don not scan in as being sport and not sure about HD by the looks of some of them the picture is very bad you will see a few screen grabs here, and i am sure A/S will have more info on this:).

They are just fairly poor quality illegal rebroadcasts. The channel being relayed changes depending on whats being shown :D

Irdeto fingerprinting. Also applied to nova hellas.

If those letters are unique to your card and box I'd edit them out of your post, especially if you are not in the intended reception area (and ask admin to edit any quoted replies too)
You might find if they show up in a Google search one day your card might stop working
