I have an invacom flange 0.3 lnb and despita having 100% signal in horisontal and vertical strong transponders
feeds reception is a totally different thing. Has someone tested some lnb's there to give me a potential idea for
switching to another lnb? For example for feeds is it better inverto ultra black or there is another option.
My satellite dish is famaval 2.40 location difficult ... sout eastern Europe. At the moment most feeds signal levels
are between 63-69%.

Is it an LNB or LNBF ?

Take a picture from front and side of the dishand post, feeds missing might be something to do with the installation.

Hi i am asking opinions for change the lnb ... for increaing singal in feeds ... if someone has tested lately
Currently i have invacom flange 0.3

I have put my famaval 2.40 direct to 7 east eutelsat but some signal feeds not satisfactory levels ...
So i am thinking to change? lnb ... but i need some info tests results? maybe ...

Many feeds are transmitted at significantly reduced power levels compared to broadcast tv.

So you believe changing the lnb will not have any difference ? because flange is 0.3 and others are 0.1 or 0.2db ..
Your opininon @Analoguesat

LNB's are cheap enough so try it. Also ensure the lnb skew (twist) is set correctly & the alignment is good.. However the only real solution for lack of signal is a bigger dish collecting more signal.

I take it the dish is a Prime Focus? If so, you are much better using a matched feed and C120 flange LNB. Most LNBs on sale now are for offset dishes, and will give a poor performance on a PF dish, unless you were to modify it for C120 operation.

The Famaval dish has the ability to run extender panels to make it over 3m.

Still awaiting pictures on the installation.

I have already asked if it with the matched feed and awaiting pictures of the installation.

Unless you have polished the surface, silver paint is not going to help with gain, or keeping the LNB at a low temperature in the Greek sun.

I also thought Famaval dishes had no hole in the centre but they may have changed the design.

Unless you take a picture of the dish side on, nobody will be able to tell if it is straight or bent. Certainly the second image shows distortion of the rim at the lower part.

@Channel Hopper thank you for this response i will give it a try with the new inverto ultra black lnb to
check if there is an improvement or not. At the moment i have not noticed any difference regarding the signal
level after my uncle polished the surface and choose grey colour for the dish. The signal in all strong transponders 7east
is reaching at the moment 16.8 - 17.3 db. Except from inverto black ultra is there any other lnb with good results? Thanks

I wouldn't use a silvered paint on a metal dish, as Channel Hopper mentioned it will do nothing to add gain, all it will do is overheat the LNB when the Sun gets behind the LNB, a flay gray paint (or white) should be used.

The only dish that a silvered paint will help is when your refurbishing a fiberglass dish, but then a flat gray paint (or white) should be applied over it.

Also those LNB mounting arms don't look quite right, are they the ones that came with the dish? or added later? As I don't think that the LNB mount is in the correct focal point.

.2 dB or .1 dB is not going to make that big of a difference in signal strength, only a bigger dish would help. For every 3 inch (@75 mm) increase in dish diameter will get you about 2 to 3 dB of gain.

You will not see any useful improvement until you have sorted out the reflector. Still awaiting a side on image.

The arms and feedhorn and feedhorn mount look correct ones for the Famaval, I have a 1.8 here. Metallic silver paint a big no, no!

The Famaval dish has the screw holes for the expansion modules at 3.10m on the edge, since these are no longer there it could be that the feed rods are still the ones for 3.10m !
So the F/D ratio doesn't match and the focal point doesn't match either, the LNB distance is then too far away from the dish !
