If you're thinking of sticking a sub-50 cm dish on a motor, then I, based on my 40cm Gibertini experience, would recommend not to bother.
Because of the wider beam-width of the small dishes, the signals from the strong sats swamp the weaker ones, and makes it difficult to use them for anything but watching the strong sats (which is hardly justifying comparing sensitive LNBs).
I had a plastic 39cm Comag Dish which I used for camping and on my caravan, worked perfectly for 28.2/19e.
I don't have it any more as I had a car accident and my Mercedes ML went off a cliff, the dish was in the boot and it smashed! But we survived :)

Just curious to see what I can pick up with a baby dish when out camping and away from any noise.

Here is the car after accident, this happened a few years ago now and still haven't bought a new dish.Accident1.JPG

Some testing to be done this week.

I have in order... IBU Quad, IBU Twin, IBP Single, IBU Single (red letters on label)

I have some other random LNB's here but not going to bother messing with those on a big dish.
Going to order a 30-50cm dish soon for some portable stuff so will do some testing on that too.

Been there done that :)

The Best Lnb for my Gibertini is the IBU 0.2

The best Lnb for my 88cm mesh dish is the Technomate 0.1

What are your findings :)

I do occasionally use the IBU on the 88cm for feeds on 10 east & 7 east where it works very well the downside of this is that some channels on 28E / 19E/ 13E show no signal ie Sky News on 19.2 east,Euronews HD on 13 east,Channel 4 HD on 28.2 east. so I have to change back to the TM 0.1 o_O

It's overloading the tuner as it has too much gain lol, the AGC isn't working very well on the tuner. You could try putting a switch box and have an attenuator on one of the outputs.

Has anybody tried a Sky Q LNB on a bigger dish? I was amazed that I could pick up the feeds on 28e no problem at all with the hybrid version on a minidish, someone reported no signal on a 88cm, but don't know what there actual location was.

Yes, they work well. Here's an EL021 that I converted to C120 Sky q dish not working with freesat
It had a slight edge over both the Inverto black and Octagon OSLO (modified) C120 single on an IRTE 1.5m with IRTE feed. There is a caution: Whilst the TBS 6903/6983 work fine down to 250MHz, they alias higher frequencies into the lower part to the band. You need to insert a 900MHz ish low pass filter when working below 800-900MHz IF frequency. Higher frequency TPs will alias into the lower part of the band. If the high part of the band is clear there's not much of a problem apart from slight excess noise. I presume they will behave similarly with other direct conversion receivers, maybe including Sky's own.

I've never used one on an offset dish. It may not be so good as the feed is skewed to be optimum on 28E in UK.

Very interesting s-band, kinda figured it would be optimised with the minidish in mind. Thanks for that. :Y

Been out playing today, I will need to do some further testing but so far it seems:

1st IBU Twin
2nd IBU Single (Red Label)
3rd IBU Quad

Signal and Quality level is highest on Twin.

If anyone can tell me a more scientific way to check please let me know and I'll do some more tests.

Problem solved by using the SX88 with the 88cm + IBU no tuner overload & weak feed signals working ok :):Y

The problems only occurred with the TM5402HD M1 & TM5302HD

I have added the problem receivers to the previous post,

The TM6902HD TM5502HD & TM5402HD M3 do not suffer with tuner overload with the IBU just a shame that the M3 has such a poor quality picture.

How does the Technomate TM-F3/5 compare with the Technomate TM5402HD M3 picture wise?

I recently bought a IBU single for my Raven 1.25m dish to replace a sharp lnb which had been installed originally. The performance from the IBU is amazing and I wished I had made the change earlier than I did.

Cheers, just saw it.
The M3 should have been called something else, the internals are totally different to the others.

Same box less functions AFAIK, I was tempted to buy one as I cannot stand the look of the Technomates with the circular display ring.

This Twin is incredible, my single IBU is pretty good too but the Twin edges it slightly, the Quad wasn't as good as either for some reason.
I have a Premium here that I haven't tested yet, got that to go on a camping dish.

@Mooncamm,

Doesn't have a CI Slot and it's missing the Scart socket.

I need to pop out there tomorrow on the weekend and give it a slight tweek on the pole.
I set it up with that Freesat V8 Finder thing, but the readings on the display are a bit hopeless as it practically shows every sat full scale signal lol

I noticed if I step the dish about 5 steps to the West the signal comes right up on all sats especially the weak ones, I checked as far east and as far west I could and it remains the same 5 steps, so fingers crossed it's just a slight tweak I need on the pole.

Im going to use a app on my phone now I have a few E2 based boxes and will check signal levels on that, anyone have a list of weaker transponders on some sats? I.e. ones you use when tweaking/setting up a dish. I want to check it E - 0 - W and make sure I'm getting the most out of it.

The Amiko A4K also works just fine with the Inverto Black Ultra 0.2 single output Lnb on all transponders 53 east to 45 west :)
