Thanks for the info, I was going to go for the 5402 but it seems the 5302 is a better receiver for blindscan ? Could someone upload a video of a blindscan on 10 East etc ?

The best Blind Scan receiver currently available is the TM5302HD finds all active transponders 800 to 45,000 symbol rates.
How configurable is it. Can you tell it to ignore DTH and only find feeds?

No the Blind Search range is only expandable for example using 6MHz steps you will find transponders with symbol rate 1000 to 45,000, Using 16 MHz steps you will mainly find DTH 5,000 to 45,000 S/R.

The TM1000 Super+ series was able to find only low symbol rates with the only below 3200 ect sadly no one has be able to adopt this system for HD DVB-S2 receivers.

I did this for E2. Set upper and lower SR. Ignore DTH. Ignore DTH on adjacent satellites (1, 2 or 3º). Works great. You can scan a busy satellite and just find the feeds. Only negative is the hardware doesn't allow selection of the step size. And the tuners aren't the best for blind scan, especially at low SR's and low signal (so they miss some stuff). Big step forward in blind scan filtering though.

Sounds like a good step forward in Blind Scan Technology :)

I for one would like to pre-program each satellite position to scan where I want it to instead of having to input the start stop frequency every time for example 16 east 10.95 GHz to 11.2 GHz V & H polarisation + 12.5 GHz to 12.59GHz V&H + 12.6GHz to 12.75 GHz Vertical ect ect it would not be difficult to add this just that the will to do it is not there atm same as my request to various satellite box manufacturers to add capability to enable the new satellite streams found :-

Multistream TV
45 east NURTS Bulgarija
13 east Mediaset DVB-T
5 west Rai Package-MIS
7.3 west SNRT
12.5 west Telecom Italia Media

Sounds quite a bit of hassle to write. How would you implement it? How would the data be entered? Obviously it would need an infinitely variable number of fields. I can't imagine the GUI. And then you have to save the config for next use. That's a lot of work compared to now where there is just one preset config for all Ku satellites.

The original software for the TM5302HD was written in this way but unfortunately each sub band was restricted by a symbol rate restriction that was not compatible with the active transponders in that part of the Ku band so the software was adjusted but with a load of problems so I wrote to TM & after 3 weeks work they completely rewrote the software program to my guidelines & amazingly it works,

I have started a new project for an Enthusiasts satellite receiver including DVB-S3 standard promise to make higher order modulation (16 to 64APSK) available to a wider range of satellite users including 4:2:2 & the preprogrammed Blind Search facility,

Yes it is complicated to write these programs but so was MPEG-4 DVB-S2 32APSK but it is possible.

Unfortunately mass production of satellite receivers for Enthusiasts is not a high priority so for now the TM5302HD is as good as it gets.

It's not complicated, it's just hassle. What I can't imagine is the user interface to enter that data. How do you picture it? Obviously the easy option would be an external file uploaded to the receiver, but to be user friendly it needs to be customizable from the GUI.

I am still in the market for a new sat box to accomodate both Ka and ku broadcasts ..
My F15 takes care of Cband..
How does the TM5302HD compare channel storage wise (capacity) ...arc positions wise (how many individual sat positions can it store)...
Tuner sensitivity ...etc to an F15 or even a skybox ?
Also does the box allow complex switching ..ie chained disec1 and 1.1 ..?
Final question ...
Can you set up a custom lnb local osc ...
Absolutely neccessary for Ka atm ?

Sorry for the Hijack..

My F15 takes care of Cband.. (So does the TM5302HD)
How does the TM5302HD compare channel storage wise (capacity) ...arc positions wise (how many individual sat positions can it store)...
The TM5302HD has 15,000 tv channels storage,65 satellite positions available,
Tuner sensitivity ...etc to an F15 or even a skybox ?
The tuner sensitivity on the TM5302HD is Better than the F15

Also does the box allow complex switching ..ie chained disec1 and 1.1 ..?
Yes the TM5302HD can do this DiSEqC 1.0 & 1.1
Final question ...

The TM5302HD can accomadate these Lnb types:-
Universal (9750/10600)
Wide( (9750/10750)
OCS (5150/5750)
5150

Cheers William ..
The user defined LO is the one most useful to me in Ka ..
And checking the price of the TM ..looks like I may well be getting one ..
Pity channel capacity isn't a bit higher ..but since there aren't that many ka channels at present ..It will suffice.
;)

Can't go wrong VS, this stb is a keeper for me. It incorporates all of the old school sd stb aspects that we liked with excellent blind scanning boxes and todays modern tech, with the exception of a linux box which wouldn't appeal to me anyways.

Hmm ..another question then ...
Having looked at ebay prices ..they can vary by as much as £40 ..the cheapest being around £90 delivered ..?
..and this one is a slimline version ?
What is the difference ...and ARE there clones which are often cheaper..

Not to my knowledge my 1st TM5302HD bought early last year was the same size as the TM5502HD (Left image)
My latest TM5302HD is a slimline version same hardware/software in both boxes,
