Best value dreambox?

My DM7020S has a hardware failure (does not receive all channels even though a GBsat connected to same dish/lnb gets them all at same preset in motor).

Having purchased it several years ago I am not sure what is currently the best value (and performance and supported!) Dreambox to replace it with. Typically used it with motor and several CAMS.

I would like to get back into playing with the Dreambox (or is there a better Linux box now?) so would appreciate comments on what is considered the "best".

Hi All

I would really appreciate some user comparisons as it looks like I'm going to have to get a new one.

What's your budget? If you have a hi-def TV then a DM800 might be a good choice?

Have you thought about getting the power supply checked out? Could be that a repair would be the cheapest option.

Dear Rolfw

Had a friend look at PSU with an oscilloscope and he says it appears to check out ok (with & without the HDD connected).

No Hi-def yet but may be an option in the future. What I was after is what users think of the kit esp re value for the money paid. Do you know of any links to reputable reviews so I can take a look there?

CROSSBONES is selling a DM7025, I'd consider buying it myself, but cant justify it at the minute.

DM-600 is a nice little box, I have one and I am quite happy with it. I also bought a clone for my dad from one of the forum sponsors recently. I cant see any difference between it and my original.

EDIT: The DM600 has no cam slot, so you are limited to 1 card unless you can connect a cam via serial connection.
