Hi guys,

I've setup a few motorised dishes over the years but never had this obstacle.

Basically I'm setting up my second dish at home but where I want to put it I can't see 1w because of a massive conifer tree.

What would you advise?

If using USALS, you can set up on any Satellite you wish, with the proviso that you are doubly confident that the mount is absolutely plumb and the dish squarely and securely mounted on the motor stub.

All that is then needed is to establish one fixed point on the arc by selecting any Satellite position and aligning to that instead.

The information should be in the "Quick Setup" notes in your Motor Installation booklet.

However, despite any confidence in the mechanical integrity of the system, it's still better to use the nearest viable Satellite to due South, in order to reduce the risk of inevitable small errors being amplified.

Alternative Solution = :-saw

Thanks for that, you've confirmed what I was thinking. I've got clear los for 3.1e and 4.8e so will go down that route.

5E or W would be ideal and are close to due South.
