My set-up is a Digital Everywhere FireDTV-S2 connected to a Mac using EyeTV.

Triax TS88 with 3 LNB's pointed at 19˚, 23.5˚ and 28.2˚ (will add another eventually for 13˚) using Disecq switching (EyeTV does not support motors).

Hi,

This is my first post, I have been lurking for some time trying to get my sat solution up and running but I think that I have hit a wall, or a defective CAM.

All FTA channels work perfectly, however, I would like to get C4 HD and any other channels that the Dragon could open. I have a S*y box that hadn't been plugged in for about 3 years, but I read somewhere that the card is still good for FTV. So that is the source of my card.

I updated the Dragon cam to the latest Predator 3.69 from ^^Compass^^, inserted the CAM in the FireDTV, I can see the Dragon menu in the CI menu, however when I tune to one of the encrypted Five's or Channel 4 HD I get nothing.

I also thought that I should be able to decrypt 'some' other channels on 19.2˚ or 23.5˚ but I can't find any that will open up.

Strangely enough, I have had more success with my softcam Eyetvcamd which is able to open up nearly all the KD channels on 23.5˚ using a softcam.key.

Could someone please tell me if there is some step I am missing? Is there a channel that I could try that for sure should work with the Dragon? Or could it be that I have bought a defective Dragon from eBay?

Thanks

Regarding the Sky card, if it hasn't been used for a long period it needs updating overnight in a Sky digibox, if the Sky digibox has not been used either, you may need to do a forced update.

No idea I'm afraid what can be received with the Dragon, but I'm sure someone else will be able to help.:)

The Dragon Cam currently opens the Digi TV package, on 1W, and a few other channels, but it's not really supported anymore so you wont get any major channels on 19E.
As for your FTV card, if it's still active, have you got it inserted the correct way.
If you are new to Cams the cards go in with the chip facing upwards.
If the card is no longer activated try leaving it in your sky box overnight, there are a few threads on FTV cards, have a quick search of the forum.
Beaten to it !!!!!!

Hi thanks for your response,

I did leave the card in the box for a couple of days (I dusted the box off when I upgraded the dish and a couple of LNB's and fitted it in the bedroom).

However I am not sure I did a forced update (I did the force software update I think, but I can try again).

Will try again and report back.

Ah, OK, I thought that it would at least be able to handle the Nagra channels that I can decrypt using the Softcam, I would have imagined that at least those keys would have been incorporated in with the Predator firmware.

So are there no channels at all that I in theory should be able to decode on 19E or 23E?

Sadly yes, it is inserted the right way up.

I tried that also, I will have another good search, but in theory I should be able to decode C4 HD? And it could be that the card is just too old? as when it is in the S*y box I don't get S*y3 or Channel 5, and I obviously don't get C4 HD as it is an ancient SD only box.
