Black Ultra on a Sky Zone 2

fergyc they work mate, !! slot the LNB holder neck/arm inside mk4 dish arm, line the holes up where plastic bung goes and put small bolt through, if you want to be precise shave couple of mil off top of LNB holder arm to compensate drop

Oh right, I'll jump up tomorrow and have it look. If it looks ok I'll take it

Item number: 190438003537 - 40mm adaptor
Item number: 320573270862 -Standard adaptor

They look quite different

With the high power sats today you dont need to be particularly precise as to lnb alignment if you are after the high power stuff - I had no problems at all getting 9E even when my lnb slipped from its zip tie cage that was affixed to the 13E dish and ended up pointing 30 degrees up in the air!

Ive also got a Sky (oval) quad as my 23E lnb as I needed another lnb output and it was in the spares box. It works just dandy for the Euro beam stuff on 3B..:D

both here have a look both can be adapted

I once had a dish delivered and the lnb holder was missing, so I taped the lnb to a washing up sponge and then taped it all to the boom and it worked perfectly well. Eagerly waited for the replacement holder from the distributor, but when I fitted it, I was quite disappointed as there was very little, if any improvement in the signal. Wish I had kept a photo of it! LOL
ps we really need a cowboy smilie here. :)

Im starting to think we need a thread celebrating some of the installation shortcuts we inflict on our own installations :-worship

The bracket came and I slotted in etc. Great results on Tring at the moment but not clarting about up there the way the wind is at the moment to get the Nordic beams on 1w and 5e but thanks for the tip and I'll put some photo's up when it's done

Looking forward to hearing the results.

People worry unnecessarily about the feedhorn shape. I have an Orbital Platinum which is the same size as a Sky zone 1 dish, though solid not perforated, and it is intended for use with a normal round LNB. Performance is similar to a 50cm dish.

So your results with the Black Ultra will be much better than with the Sky LNB.

:-righton

Fixed the mount today with a wood screw at the little plastic one was crap and popped up for 5 minutes to have a mess about 10 minutes ago, set the elvation just a tad lower and looked through the window to see the quality had got to 70% on the Viasat PL transponder! Thinking I'd only mess it up from here I tightened it all up and went inside, will try a bit more tweaking some other time but I'm very pleased with the results at the moment.
