my tbs 6903 is fast but the 5925 usb is a snail in comparison

If a comparison is to be made, then tbs5925 USB must be compared to tbs6925 card, which are from the same technological generation(2010).Tbs5927 USB is a kind of upgrade of tbs5925 and obviously is more performant in many way.It is endowed with a fan against heat and thus the device is protected.
While tbs5927 USB and tbs6903 card have about the same hardware and of the same tech generation. As such it would be better to compare between these two than with 5925! They are from another era,to exaggerate a little.
But one thing needs to know, because of physical construction and connection mode, the dvbs card installed in the computer is faster at scanning than a USB device. It is an advantage that dvbs cards have when working in a computer environment.

If you have a PC in W7 or later, there is no problem for the blindscan.
The blindscan does not need a lot of CPU, it is for UHD programs that it takes power.

I quote you again because,as I said in the previous message,tbs5927 can not compare to tbs5925.For that, although I knew that before,I ran tests again with both cards after I installed fresh W10 build 1809.And,as I have demonstrated on other occasions,tbs5927 is more performant from all points of view to tbs5925.
I scanned with both cards the upper band of 12GHz on both polarities at 10.0 E,where we have a few low symbol symbol transponders and the result can be seen below. The test was done with the EBS application.
About a comparison between tbs6903 card and tbs5927 USB,you can read in my review about tbs5927.

Strange... 5925 don't find low symbol rates? 5927 (19 transponders, including low SR) - 5925 (9 transponders only).

Here we don't have a lot of low SR. I have 5925 too and did some tests.

I did some tests, but never found low SR here in Brazil using my TBS 5925, lol.

5925 and it's PCI version(6925) are old hat nowadays regarding blindscanning speed, things have moved on since this card came out. And going off memory doesn't support Blscan2, which most cards do now.

I seem to remember it also performed poorly at low SRs. I think it's main strength was picking up 16apsk,/32apsk and ACM/VCM modulation/coding data channels(mostly).

I temporarily replaced my 'fried' 6925 with a TBS6922SE(£50 approx), and it blew the 6925 away for blindscanning speed, so kept it and sold my replacement 5925( warranty replacement) on another forum. I have a 6903 now and it is quick, but still not as quick as the 6922e, but picks up the aforementioned data signals, inc. 16apsk feeds.

What you scanned at 10.0E is actually from 9.0E.Of course, this doesn't matter for what you're interested in right now.I said what was important to say about 5925,and now @Dave5118 confirms that.
Final conclusion:buy another dvbs card or USB device to find more transponders. So far the best prices for consumers(both for amateurs/dxer) are those from TBS,so much so that have Crazyscan support(@CrazyCat's library).

6922se
6922se.png

Why 5520se use 2 usb ports? I need to use this 2 usb?

According to the device specification, the standard is multiple: DVB-S2X / S2 / S(atellite) / T2 / T(err) / C2 / C(able) / ISDB-T.Look here

Yes... 2 tuners (sat and cable) and 2 usb ports (pink and black). First test, 1 usb only. Now I'm testing ebs pro again using 2 usb ports...

2nd USB port is to draw extra power that's all. Same as some external HDDs ;)

I have a 5520se too, hardly ever use it, as EBSpro not been optimised to us it properly, as it came out after cjcr stopped updating it. Seem to remember crazyscan works much better, but I get constant hangs, maybe because I use a PCI to USB2 adapter, as all my PC ports are USB3, and I get diddlysquat with them.

Tests:

8ºW and symbol rate 60000

5925: signal/tune OK
5520se: no signal
6922se: no signal

40.5W:
32 apsk: only with 5925
t2-mi (Canal Trece/Trece 2): all 3

6922se (t2-mi). I don't know the difference between t2mi and multistream. My vu zero (mips) don't recognize this transponder. Zero 4k ok. TBS 6922se, 5925 and 5520se ok too.

?
If seems there are some inconsistences in performances with all these tbs cards in other words I guess a few duds have been sold ?

Not really, the 5925 cost a couple of hundred quid, the others are well below £100....... you get what you pay for.
