The tree that has been blocking my 5E summer reception have grown quite a bit in all the rain this year - and this evening Ive found that are now knocking out 7E 9E & 10E as well :(

The dishes are already right at the bottom of the garden to get round the rest of the trees so there is no opportunity to relocate them.

There are also no chance to get the trees felled or trimmed - the farm isnt the slightest bit interested in tidying up some scrubby woodland. The worst offending branch is at least 25feet up so not really practical for me to deal with. (And no Im not going to do any quiet tree poisoning - I like trees (apart from when they grown in my dish LOS)

Try too get the farm owners to see reason and appreciate your dilemma as an avid sat. tracker to trim/fell the trees.

then short of renting a lift and using a saw, you can do the following:

1) Get relatively small dish - maybe 60 cm?
2) Align it to the sat your want to receive.
3) Get a 0.6 f/D feedhorn
4) Get some flexible microwave-conduit
5) Modify your kitchen microwave oven by taking it apart, and attach the microwave-conduit over the gun
6) Take microwave outside to dish, so that other end of conduit can be attached to feedhorn
7) deploy power extension cord to microwave, and plug microwave in
8) run the microwave oven at 100% for 10 minutes (it's probably best not to hang around while the over is running)

repeat step 8 until leaves wither.
Caution: Make sure you use a powerful enough microwave. If the leaves do not burn but boil, you may kill the entire tree.

alternative 1 (probably better result):

a) Buy 2 cases of good-quality red-wine (6 bottles of good Cotes-du-Rhône usually does the trick)
b) Give farmer one case, asking casually if it's ok you trim a branch of one of his many trees. If you manage to get the farmer to open and consume a bottle before popping the question, the results are often much better.
c) Get hold of a tree-pruner, give him the other case, and tell him to crawl up and take the specific branch off (note: Do not let him open any bottles before climbing tree with power saws on your behalf!)

alternative 2:

Employ cases of red-wine as above, but ask farmer if you can stick a couple of dishes on NPRMs on his land (which you will of course remove again when required), within cabling distance of your property.
This may require yearly refresh of red-wine cases to farmer, though...
 
I have a similar problem with the tree's in next doors garden. Drilled a 1/2" hole into each tree and keep treating with an industrial grade weed killer I acquired from a farmer. Every week I keep giving them a dose of weed killer. The leaves are browning and starting to die of. Hopefully next year the leaves won't come back.View attachment 81979 Changed the dish this weekend, put the 1.8 CM back up.

Lo and behold my friendly landowner turned up again today, he enquired had I any trees I wanted chopping down affecting sat.signals or sunlight.
Pointed out 5 trees starting to block line of sight to various sats, after a mug of coffee he immediately set about chopping them down with his chainsaw, I get to keep them for winter firewood even though they are on his land.

No the house is not sliding downhill:-doh

This is a so called pine/spruce cone year here ( central southern norway ):-ohcrap

Laz, why the hell have you changed your pic to one of Criss Evans with a green scarf and biker boots!
 
Not a big one, but had a million leaves apearing on branches at the top, was growing into my 28e reception.
Was especially bad with wet leaves, and wind made signal fluctuate.
