Bob Symes, inventor and TV/Radio presenter, has passed away aged 90.

Probably best known for his appearancies on Tomorrow's World, but I can remember him on many programmes in the 60's to the 90's about railways and some of his ingenious engineering inventions.

R.I.P Bob

He was involved in trying to save our Waverley railway route when it closed in 1969. Shame he didnt live long enough to see the line reopen in September.

I remember him as a regular on Tomorrow's World. Sad to hear he's gone.

Yes it is sad but even Bob would acknowledge that he had a good innings, I fondly remember the Tomorrow's World music when the name Bob Symes is mentioned RIP Bob
