Bollards!

Had a quote back today from RG Spillers, about fitting bollard in my driveway, to stop the people parking on my drive!

Phones them this afternoon, to give them the go ahead.
 
You might suggest to the Headmaster that a goodwill contribution would be welcome.
 
I think I've been in that Pub.
 
The fun part will be if a car parks on your drive and you drop the bollard in & lock it in place, then hand them an invoice for parking there with no release until they pay up... :D

After all, it is private property... ;)

Good question. I would guess something along the lines of it being private ground and people should not park there without permission. You reserve the right to erect a barrier to prevent an unauthorised vehicle from exiting and a payment (of a defined amount?) will (may?) be required for its removal.

What if the fitter is inept and it takes him 24 hours to fit it will they charge accordingly?

In a nutshell, yes, I will pay for the time, per hour.

But when I spoke to him on the phone, he did confirm it would be far less then a days labour, hinting at 2/3 hours (ish)
 
You can only invoice for parking there. Any attempt to disable the vehicle and prevent it from leaving without charge is Illegal, Its the same as wheel clamping. There is nothing to stop you keeping them there and releasing them for free after a few days :-lmao.
 
Just had a phone call from the chap who is going to fit it, and it's going to be installed tomorrow afternoon :-)
