OK you plant lovers...What the heck is this stuff????

IMG_1374A.jpg

I go on board the house boat and see this stuff all over the pontoons, never seen stuff like this before.

Hope it doesn't crawl up on deck at night and eat brains.

All input needed.

Canal waterways around her do, on warm weather conditions suffer from 'bloom' but that looks localised. Is the water itself clear ?

Less of a nugget and more of a splat ..
Pure genius ...and not just the creation of 'green'...but the writing of the show..

Well it's not moving, that's good, and if you look at the photo you can see that the water is not all that clear, I may have to devise a way to scrape it off from the little boat, may be some sort of plastic edged scraper as I don't want to scrape up the nice new tar job on the pontoons.

Here is a blow up and enhanced photo.

At first I thought it was fish egg sacks, but this stuff is hard, and it does not come off easily.

I may need to pull the old scuba gear out, I hope the wet suit still fits as the water is getting colder by the day.

For you to don your evening attire suggests it also has advanced mind control and suggestion.

As a matter of interest, what is the ballpark water temperature?

About 72 degrees F and falling as it gets colder outside, and it's getting cloudy outside so it may drop further.

At the time of these photos the water temp was about 75 degrees F.

My depth finder has a very accurate water temp reading, I counter checked it on install with a very accurate temperature probe.

"when does it go dark"? Usually when I stagger fall off the end of the boat.....

And it gets dark about 6:30 PM Pacific time....

Aliens (1986). Newt: We'd better get back, 'cause it'll be dark soon, and they mostly come at night... mostly.
