Hi All

Replaced my old Zgemma box because of recording problems and, so far, pretty please with my Freesat 4K recordable.
One small (but irritating !) problem is that everytime it is turned on I get a message about setting up my dish.
It's the same dish I was using for the Zgemma, on Astra 28E, and has not been moved at all.
Can anyone tell me why it is doing this (seemingly taking longer each time)?
Some setting somewhere not right?
Any help appreciated.

Ken

lol jesus christ, im slow today - sorry.

well - surely - a factory reset - firmware update - re-attempt then process - must be a fairly straight forward run through...

First port of call would be a Factory Reset

Aha. I found this elsewhere

"

The "setting up your dish" problem is due to standby mode being set to passive. To fix this, press Home on your remote, then Settings, then System settings, then Standby mode, then Set Standby Mode. Change the mode to Active, then Save & Close. The TV channel should now appear as soon as you switch the box on. I believe Active mode uses slightly more power

Hi All
Thanks for all your efforts (and apologies for, apparently. starting a small war !).
A lot of helpful people on here!!!!
You were quite right Lazarus, Standby was set to passive so I have set up a Freesat account (required ) and changed it to Active.
Will double check next time it is turned on and post the result.
Again, my thanks to everyone.

My first generation Humax Freesat HDR is well past pension age, so I may have to succumb to one of these new-fangled ones in the near future.

The Humax was the biggest load of pants when it came to live pause..Always cut off at the end of the program, so if you paused it for 10 minutes you missed the end of what you were watching..

Have to ask why on earth they would have a standby setting which involves having to go through dish setup on every restart, doesn't make sense.

My thought exactly.
However setting to Active seems to cure it ,as this am the box started without the disc setup.

They had one of these boxes at a holiday cottage we went to last summer, can't say I was impressed with it. We would switch it on to 'no signal' only a power down would cure it. The LNB could have been faulty I suppose..
