Bridgestone confirmed on Thursday that they will commence a three-year contract from January 1, 2008 as the official tyre supplier to the FIA Formula One World Championship. The contract, which covers the 2008, 2009 and 2010 seasons, was the result of a successful tender process with the FIA back in 2006.Last season, all 11 teams ran on Bridgestone rubber, after the Japanese tyre manufacturer's rivals, Michelin, withdrew from Formula One racing.
