Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
PS: after that link finishes there are many similar ones, as well links to many other very useful repair techniques, e.g. to ABS.

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

I have used this technique to fix plastic items and as a filler for paint grade wood cabinets, (when my normal stuff in the can is empty) be sure to use the runniest super glue you can get, otherwise it may not get to all places needed to be fixed. This only works if the item being fixed is vertical as possible. And be sure to wear gloves and don't breathe the fumes. (some cases there are fumes)

I have used this method for a couple of years on various repairs. My wife has a small opaque white glass ornament and managed to break it and this hack was perfect to make an almost invisible repair whilst filling in the missing opaque glass.

Really any powder material that is a similar colour to the item to be glued together can be used.

One further tip is to make the put stuff in the fridge before bonding and then bring into a warm room, the condensation will assist with a uniform fix and provides a slighly porous surface once sanded down for any final work involving paint.

Yes but only baking powder will act as a catalyst and set it instantly

Not at all.

As far as I recall there is no catalyst involved in setting.

Will consult my notes tomorrow.

I use a CA called Q-Bond which comes with the option of black or light grey accelerants. I'm not sure what they contain but the finished bond on the black is often better than the material it is fixing

"The reaction between cyanoacrylate and baking soda is very exothermic (heat-producing) and also produces noxious vapors."
The term catalyst describes a component in a reaction that assists but is not affected or altered chemically. I believe the baking powder is changed chemically (though I would need to look at the formula)

From memory the cyanoacrylate requires the presence of water to change (your link mentions chain growth polymerisation) however in woodworking other materials are used, acetone and alcohol for example, depending on the time required by the carpenter to set.
