I left them for the very same reason around 2010, Since then they have changed the policy no caps between 16:00 and 22:00 there so called peak time. They now only reduce the upload speed and the download is Unrestricted as long as you take an Over 30mb connection

Code:

I also used to be with Virgin (and NTL before that) but my problem with Virgin now is their upload is quite slow unless you go for their top expensive package (30-50Mb download would be more than enough for me) and they still traffic shape uploads if you upload a lot. As I want to use my connection for VPN and a couple of Slingboxes, it's not good for me especially as they restrict it right during peak evening TV viewing times. If I didn't need the upload I'd be back with Virgin as I've been waiting two years for BT to switch on my cabinet.

I've been talking with BT today, I am with sky atm and under contract for phone and BB until January, I cant get virgin here,

I explained I was still under contract, and what could they do, they said if I took there phone infinity BB with sports they would sort the sky contract out for free, I then asked about there upcoming 4K if that was in with this package, and they said no it will be an extra package,

I will wait until they bring the 4K box out and then go with them, i hope i can manually input transponders into the new 4K box, it would be ideal for monitoring other 4K channels / some type of scan would be a big bonus :),

Then we will probably take a new contract with sky when they bring there 4K box out, that's my short term plan :).

The BT 4K box would be via the internet, would it not?

I am unsure tbh Timo, when I read the article the other day, I thought it said a 4K box and a now tv box, so I presumed if that's the case why wouldn't they implement 4K into the now tv internet box, unless I read it wrong I will take another look, hope this makes sense lol.

The BT 4K channel is Via Broadband only for Infinity customers, Certainly makes sense as they already deliver all there other HD channels via Broadband apart from the Freeview ones obviously.

I cant see it being on Satellite not yet anyway as delivery it via there infrastructure that they already own costs them nothing where as a satellite variant will cost them leasing transponder space from Astra

Now this is what I call PAINFUL! Yes we are having problems again

I could have some fun soon as I am ditching BT and moving phone and BB.

^Lol, no wonder why you´re not talking more about iptv-channels:-doh

Even at best I only get 2.5meg - iptv is something to dabble in for a few minutes on the speeds I get!

who are you swapping to Chris
Vivaciti, as I really need to get away from bt. I am pis@ed with bt.

Still have hassle with Bt charging me for sport on my sky box, I got rid of that a few months ago and still being billed.

Check to see if your direct debit to BT is stopped.

I'm still unsure about going back to BT as my sky fibre is great, it's just the BT sport deal that's tempting.

Let me know if Vivaciti is good for you Chris - is that on FTTC? I am thinking of switching from them to Zen when I move to the new house.

Ah OK. Vivaciti is on Entanet. I had issues with it two years ago but they switched me over to a new product and it's been fine since (barring BT line issues...)
