Just received an email from Blueyonder (Telewest) concerning their intention to upgrade my 3Mbps to 4Mbps by Jan 2005 for no extra cost. The service will be unlimited and upload speed will also be increased from 256Kbps to 384Kbps.

Woooohoooo.

You get unlimited download cap @ Irishbroadband.ie via Satellite @ around €35 per mt.
I know you cant get that one where you are but have a look around your area. You have to be within 6k of an mast though. Couldnt wait myself spent a fortune with Eircom with ISDN line and then got it taken out when i got my bill. Have utv broadband now, double the eircom cap and
free for 4 mts. Then €30 a month from then on, not bad.

:confused What's that all about then? I thought the page requests etc. went via your standard phone line at 56K? Why does it matter where you are?

Also, I assume that with sat. broadband, there is no long-term contract?

Don't really know m8, but at the price you quote, it's gotta be worth investigating!

Its only if you get broadband without a phone line, you have to be within 6k of the feeder mast. Works great I believe.
