So here are a few taster photos from the August Bank Holiday display, good weather and very very very loud jets within 50 foot of you blasting down the runway.......Held twice a year-once in May and the other in August,if you like jets and like your eardrums having the cobwebs blown out of them then this is for you.

English Electric lightning on reheat- now my ears were really hurting at this point!

Intense heat haze after the twin lightnings deafened us. Nowhere in thew world can you see two lightnings fast running,just awesome.

The spitfire from the BBMF visited (as did the hurricane) for a few fast flypasts.

The Handley Page Victor showed us who was the boss.
And for those interested in Aviation ,Bruntingthorpe has now acquired a VC10 for fast taxiing ,there are only 3 left flying with the RAF. Lets hope we get the Vulcan back here when she's retired.
 
Great photo's Paul but I was expecting to see a London black cab with a V8 installed when I saw the thread title.....

Love the big Victor bomber. Would be great to see this event sometime.
 
It was a long day, but great fun, the comet couldnt do its run because the portable start unit plugged up to the aircraft kept misfiring under load and the canberra had a fuel delivery problem but they had other aircraft to fill the spots. I'm lucky being 5 mins away i tend to go over there on Sundays when the museum is open. I'm so tempted to volunteer as they need people to work on the aircraft and paint them etc, but i reckon once i'd get into it my weekends would disappear there. Theres only so many nuts and bolts i can take all week.

A bit late to join in the conversation, the Victor was way ahead of it's time, but technology in other fields - plus some dirty tricks from 'friends' made it redundant/relegated in an instant.



 
I would like to see a victor fly over Bruntingthorpe at tree top height! But thats not going to happen but i can dream.....
