I have forgotten my password for root user. I have good setup inside my dreambox and would like to know if it is possible to bruteforce my own box inside my LAN. Does dreambox have some kind of firewall/bruteforce mechanism that would lock me out?

Put a new image on. In case you have problems with the LAN use null modem cable.
