Apparently our BT Business connection is due for a major overhaul at the end of next week (the 9th) and I received correspondence on it on Saturday, both by email and post.

No problem with that of course, until I read further.

The upgrades consist of inclusion of ADSL2+ onto the existing line, not that we need it of course, but at the foot of the letter it states that older style hubs or modems may not function, and worse still, non-standard equipment that I am using (the Voyager 105, which is BT endorsed, just not for the service I have), most definitely will not function.

There is a help page advertised

_http://www.bt.com/business/help/equipment

which conveniently has gone down, but there is a useful hint at the foot of the letter confirming further help from BT can be gleaned by contacting their IT Support Manager, at a cost.

Luckily I know where I can blag a Voyager 220 for the price of a pint.

Why not just go the whole hog and get the fibreoptic broadband? Cos if it's available in your area, you might as well get it rather than try and use ADSL2+... :D

I don't need the hassle (change of contracts/equipment etc) and I certainly don't need all the other potential issues that come with it.

Last thing I actually require is a faster broadband, but I suppose I am going to have nothing in the say about the changeovers as many others do want it for their own requirements.

Anyone else suffering with these changes I have a brand new (unopened) BT Voyager 220V available for the cost of carriage and a forum donation

Just realised the 220v has its own separate power unit (wonderful, no spare sockets behind the bench).

So much for an efficiency drive.
