Bulgarian broadband breakthrough
The Bulgarian ADSL broadband market is bracing itself for a major shake-up. According to a local report, the incumbent telco BTC is about to sign interconnection agreements with seven alternative carriers that will allow them access to its broadband network. The companies in question are Eurolink, Globul, Net Is Sat, Nexcom Bulgaria, Orbitel, Sp'ectrumNet and Vivatel. Although BTC remains the leading provider of fixed-line services in Bulgaria, it has yet to launch an IPTV platform.
