Bush hd freesat box /sound /video problem!

My Satellite Setup
i have an HD dish two wires from it, it was installed before i moved in, i have brought a bush HD freview box (new) and running it though my TV using the hmdi port, my coomputer is very basic and runs though my tv using the dvi port.

hi all, i have today moved to an area that there is only satellite Tv, so i brought a bush freeview box. all working fowollowing a breth picture to pitcure on how to set up. three problems:

1st the house i moved in to has a dish with one lnb but two cables? one cable gives a 61% signal and the other gives a 91% siganl whats that all about?

2sd after setting up and working the sound and picture go off some time to gether some time just the sound, this is more offten when watchng HD channels but will happen in all channels

3rd if i leave the bush box in standby and not une it after a bout 2 hrs it wil just dislay a grey screen i have to unplug it and restart the box, so now i am leaving it off untill we need it, is this normal?

You have bought a freesat box not a freeview box - totally different things!

1) The two cables are for pvr functionality, which requires two inputs for the two tuners. The previous owner probably had Sky+ If you are getting different results on one tuner then the cable or lnb may be damaged on one run

2) Probably the box

3) No its not normal - Id say the box is faulty.
 
I'd bet that 1) is also "the box is faulty" given 2) and 3). But it's worth double checking the cable and connectors to be sure,
 
In addition, you can also swap out the cable to another LNb port [if it's a quad as suspected]. It's not uncommon for an LNb port to be faulty; had one only last week.
 
hi sorry about that it is a freesat box, also sorry about the spelling. omg i can not belive that i spelt it all wrong. i have just called the previouse owners of the system as they asked if i would like to buy there sky+ box, but i am stuck in a contract with BT vistion for the next 6 months. we can not get freeview where i am living hence all the sky dishes every where. They confirmed the company that put the LNB up so i will make arrangement for them to come back and have a look first before i go back to argos andask for a replacment. thanks for all your help chapesand have a merry xmas new year.
