Nothing on the grapevine, but one hopes so - don't watch it much as SD ain't much cop these days.

No official announcements yet, but I reckon there is now a reasonable chance 7750 will turn out to be C5HD fta.

As a working class man I find their programming "such & such & on benefits" ect as the Tory propaganda, I'm not even going to get started with the crap fest that is Ch5. The one thing I would say is I have my doubts as their HD offering never made an appearance on the Freeview DVB-T spectrum despite promises it would years back now.

As one of those putative propagandists, and a member of no class (In every sense!) I can tell you I find those programmes to be insidious attempts at entertaining strange minds regardless of which bench they may sit on.

But C5 do have stuff like Chris Tarrant's Railway travelogues, which are pretty good.

Oh, and, err ................................

No, that's it.

If C5HD does go on to the Freeview platform then they've long since lost their natural position at 105 when they wouldn't give any assurance that they intended to start an HD service. Even as interim measure they'd have to go up in the 100teens somewhere until the next number reshuffle,

If the HD version were to go FTA would the SD version not have to " fall on the sword " ? Cannot comment on Freeview ( not available here in Spain ) but I´m sure the Freesat version would be forced into the 165 slot.
Not that many things on CH5 will look too much different in SD or HD, IMO

My comment was specific to Freeview but for Freesat you're probably right that it'll go up in the 160s. Given that they've recently stopped all regionality then, yes, the HD and SD versions will probably swap logical channel positions on HD boxes.

Brian, just do HD swap in ABM and C5 HD will automatically get promoted to 105.

No it is not FTA at the moment. Right now it is just a guessing game. Anyway if Ross is correct about the lockdown dates it won't happen this side of Christmas.

The lockdown dates come from DS user Strathclyde - he is involved in the broadcast industry & his info is always accurate.
