Hello guys,
i am using a wirless netowrk to connect mt dbox and it is working fine, i am trying to use an ethernet cab;e to connect my dbox because i want to use my access point somewhere else, i tried to use a cross and a striagt config but both didn't work, the distance between the router and the dbox is about 8 meters, is there any special config for the cable, why didn't both config work?

Any cable should work mate

U better have a look at the comm setup in the box ?
 
Straight cable from Dreambox to Router, or crossover from Dreambox to PC, as Dig Deep says, if both don't work, it'll be something to do with your settings.
 
ok guys, i tried the direct cable from the router to dbox but it seems the distance which is about 10 meters effrcted the comm. when i got the cable shorter about 2 meters things worked, however i got the following config for the cable and i used in the 10 meters and things worked perfectly, i thought i would post the config i used to may help some other people:

Pin Wire color(end1) Wire color(end2)
1 W/O W/G
2 O G
3 W/G W/O
4 B W/BRWN
5 W/B BRWN
6 G O
7 W/BRWN B
8 BRWN W/B
W:white, G:green, O:orange, B:blue, BRWN: brown
 
That wiring's non-standard (4/5 & 7/8 transposed on end 2).

This is not important though, as only 1/2 and 3/6 are used for 10BaseT working.
