I have used this chart as a guideline in the past to calculate the required dish size based on the dBW level displayed on the target satellite footprint. Be careful to check the full specification of a dish before buying as in the past I've been supplied with a dish that was supposed to be 85cm and had reflector dimensions of 78X70cm and a 90cm which had dimensions of 105X97cm.

Just spotted as I was posting, but surely <30dbW requires something greater than 600cm? Not that it is particularly relevant for everyone other than the likes of Klaus Schumacher in his quest to pick up Astra 1 in Brazil.
