could anybody help me? i am looking to buy a cam i dont know? matrix revolutions or something similar to help me receive channels from hispasat which are decoded by nagravision. if i buy the suitable cam and enter the relevent key codes will this help me to decode some channels? i use a technomate 1000d
 
Get a dragon cam. They are the mutz nutz.

Does your 1000D have a cam slot - they dont by default, the bit behind the blanking plate is empty.

Before you buy a cam consider just flashing your stb with a Darkmans patch to receive those channels, although bear in mind flashing carries a small risk as does any kind of firmware replacement
 
how do i do that? could you explain a few things about patches for me? where to get one and how to install it into my digibox
 
I do not know the procedure as I do not have one but I am sure it is quite standard. The patch comes from Alsat.co.uk login alsat password alsat.
I am sure there are some howto's around somewhere perhaps there will be one on Alsat. Basically you normally need a null modem cable which can be purchased from many places e.g Maplin, the update software (loader) and the firmware. The firmware emulates various encryption methods and has keys built in to it which can be changed via the remote. More than that I cannot tell you.
