Advice Needed Camera output conversion to HDMI

I want to put up a camera for my mum so that she can view the ships leaving harbour and see the new windfarm in the background, thing is it needs to output on a TV rather than PC or monitor. I've already tried a 700 lines analogue camera but it doesn't have the resolution to see the windfarm in the distance so I'm now looking at a varifocal hybrid camera but I'll need to convert the AHD/CVI/TVI/CVBS output to HDMI. That's where my knowledge of CCTV runs out so what's the cheapest method of conversion from one of these video modes to HDMI that retains full HD, any links or specific examples would be really helpful. :Y

Most television will/should have a set of connections of the rear on top of the HDMI ones. A VGA input has 720 lines as standard, but can provide resolution up to 1080 (in XGA mode).
 
Surely VGA as standard is 640 x 480? Which is far from HD. Even WVGA (which is the approx. 16:9 format that the TV is expecting) retains the 480 line vertical resolution.

WXGA is what you really need to aim for but at approximately 1280 x 800 it's only a bit better than 720p. I think that HDMI at 1080 will give the vertical resolution that is needed.

The o/p wishes to connect the camera to a 'new' television, the 640 X 480 resolution is a throwback to pre Windows 2000 monitors and cards.
 
Yes but the point is that 640 x 480 is just not good enough. I don't think that any video input (assuming it actually has one - my TVs don't) will be good enough.
 
I think the misunderstanding is the term "VGA", which is commonly used when referring to the 15-Pin D-Sub video interface connector, it's not easy to remember all the abbreviations for the expansions on VGA graphics resolutions... :lol:

VGA, SVGA and XGA use the same 15 pin connector. The limitation comes from the graphics card used and the pixels within the monitor screen.
 
I feel we're taking a trip off topic about this. We don't even know whether the TV has a D-sub connector or not let alone what resolution it will support up to.

The question remains - is there such a thing as a convertor to HDMI? I've looked at the CPC link and I can't make out what physical connector either of the cameras has. AFAIK AHD/CVI/TVI/CVBS does not describe the physical connector.
 
AHD and CVBS are both analogue video formats so there will be no cheap converters to HDMI. CVBS also only has max resolution of 576 (HD is 1080),
Never heard of TVI or CVI.

Note also that as with all AHD (analogue high def) cameras, they must be used with an AHD compatible DVR - thus are not compatible with connection straight to a normal TV.

I'll jump back in, the TV only has the usual selection of RCA sockets and HDMI as it's fairly recent Samsung. Output connector on the cameras are BNC and there's a quick demo of analogue HD here hxxps://videos.cctvcamerapros.com/surveillance-systems/what-is-ahd-cctv.html It looks to be good enough but with the camera doing so many other modes, none of which I have a clue about I don't know whether a simple convertor to HDMI will suffice or is a DVR that outputs HDMI is the way to go but as I'm funding it it needs to be cheap ^_^
 
Since the link to the cameras show just analogue output video,

and your television does not appear to have an analogue input, you will have to find a converter, and some additional funds.

Connection via a dvr ( and then upscaling within to the HDMI circuitry) will still not give you the required resolution.
